Visit Unimatic WatchesA Shopify-to-warehouse connector for Unimatic Watches.
I built the link between Shopify and ShippyPro, handling customs paperwork, preorders, tracking and financial reporting in one app.
The problem.
Moving to Shopify meant Unimatic Watches needed to carry its shipping and finance requirements into a new platform. Orders needed the right customs values and invoices, while stock orders and preorders had to reach the warehouse at different times. The connection also had to follow Unimatic’s own destination rules and financial reporting requirements.
The systems involved.
Shopify holds the orders and payments. ShippyPro connects the warehouse to carriers. A custom app inside Shopify keeps the handoff, documents and financial records together.
What I built, and why.
I built the connector around the order lifecycle. It checks paid consumer orders, applies approved destination rules and supplies the values ShippyPro uses to create invoices. Eligible orders go to the warehouse workflow; preorders wait for release. The team can see what is ready and what needs attention. Tracking returns to Shopify, while reports account for sales and refunds across currencies.
Responsibility and boundaries.
I designed, built, deployed and support the connector. Unimatic sets the commercial rules and makes finance and warehouse decisions. ShippyPro provides the shipping software; the warehouse and carriers handle dispatch and delivery. The storefront and wholesale workflows were outside my scope.
Implementation detail.
If an external system does not confirm what happened, the connector holds the order for checking rather than risking a duplicate handoff. Staff can see the issue and the next action in the app.
The outcome.
The connector is in live use, bringing order handling, invoices, tracking and reporting into a shared view for the team. Some carrier-specific follow-up remains.
